Adventures in Card-Making

Paper Adventures

Dear Fellow Crafters,

Over the weekend, while surfing the net, I came across a poem called Heartprints.
The poem by Praveen, can be found at http://www.poetryoflife.com/heartprints
I wanted to share it with you because not only did it inspire me, but it sums up the focus of Heartfelt Creations.

Heartprints

Whatever our hands touch –
We leave fingerprints!
On walls, on furniture,
On doorknobs, dishes, books,
As we touch we leave our identity.

Oh please where ever I go today,
Help me leave heartprints!
Heartprints of compassion
Of understanding and love.
Heartprints of kindness
And genuine concern.

May my heart touch a lonely neighbor
Or a runaway daughter,
Or an anxious mother,
Or, perhaps, a dear friend!

I shall go out today
To leave heartprints
And if someone should say
“I felt your touch”,
May that one sense be … YOUR LOVE
Touching through ME.

This is to all the wonderful people
I have met!

I offer you my hand in friendship
So that when you reach out in times if need,
You can be certain that I’ll always be there.
When it returns to you,
You’ll know who’ll be your friends for life!

Adventures in Card-Making

Paper Adventures

Dear Fellow Crafters,

I must admit that I have been quite lax in writing this month! I’ve been busy creating my new blog: uniquelyyourscraftjournal.com on wordpress. I’m focusing on writing and creating journals. I’ve invited guests (authors) and will sell my cards. I’ve also discovered Pinterest and have linked my sites.

Of course, Valentine’s Day cards were designed, made and sent. Like all of you in the Northeast, we were bombarded with snow, so we didn’t go out but had a nice, romantic dinner complete with my Kaluha brownies. One of the cutting dies I used this holiday was the Love and 5 Hearts cutting dies http://www.paperwishes.com/products/4105320/love-5-hearts-cutting-dies. It’s very versatile.  I covered a square card with red paper and used white, red and a textured blue for the swirl. My husband wants me to scan it for you, so you will see it soon.  I also discovered  2 stamps I hadn’t used lately (Darcie Hunter’s little bear and country stand).  They may be obsolete now. I stamped the stand on craft paper and the bear in a darker brown matte paper. The grass was from Fiskars and the tree was another Paper Wishes die called the 4 Seasons Tree http://www.paperwishes.com/categories/cutting-dies-embossing-folders-machines-accessories-110/cutting-dies-112.html That one comes with a tree and tiny hearts, flowers, snowflakes and leaves. I used a heart paper punch instead because I wanted the hearts to stand out.
It’s fun creating and crafting!
