Dear Fellow Crafters,
Yes, you can use Mod Podge on anything you want to wash but only if you use this formula. It was released in 2014 and the formula promises that you can glue, seal and put in the dishwasher. The finish is glossy. You can use it to add paper or fabric. If you want to use it on glassware, the recommendation is to put it 3/4″ from the top of the glass to keep away from your mouth
. As a matter of fact, I used this product recently. I became interested in mason jars last summer and made mason jar luminaries (see my board on Pinterest ) for a craft fair. I decided to make a drinking glass for our son for his birthday. He is a huge fan of the New York Yankees and anything baseball. So the first thing was to gather my materials: navy cardstock, Jolee baseball stickers and some baseball buttons.
I cut the paper strip to fit around the jar and then used Xyron to attach the embellishments. I then checked for placement around the jar and finally spread the Mod Podge Dishwasher formula over the entire strip. I used 2 coats, letting it dry between applications. I then used Xyron to attach the baseball bat and ball buttons to a 2″ punched circle (navy) for the lid. I left the jar in cool place for about 10 days or so until it was dry and no longer sticky.
Our “D” loved it!
